Danielle Salcedo, a freshman at College of the Canyons, won the women's 5-kilometer title in 17:55.02 at the California Community College Athletic Association Southern California Championships at Mile Square Regional Park in Fountain Valley. Salcedo helped College of the Canyons secure seventh place with 187 points to advance to the state meet Nov. 20 at Woodward Park in Fresno.
